Who We Are

At Second Chance Services, we believe that no one should be defined by their worst mistake. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals impacted by the criminal justice system—whether recently released, on probation or parole, or simply trying to rebuild after incarceration. Our team is united by one mission: to break the cycle of recidivism and help people reclaim their lives with dignity, hope, and practical support.

Our Story

Second Chance Services was founded by individuals who understand firsthand how hard it is to reenter society after incarceration. Many of our team members and volunteers have lived experience, and we’ve seen how difficult it can be to find stable housing, employment, emotional support, or even someone who believes in your potential. What started as a grassroots effort to help a few individuals quickly grew into a community-driven organization reaching hundreds.

From those early days, our work has been rooted in empathy, second chances, and the belief that transformation is possible for everyone. We’ve learned that people don’t just need resources—they need respect, connection, and support that honors their whole story.

Our Vision

We envision a world where people returning from incarceration are met with compassion, not judgment—and where every individual has access to the tools, support, and opportunities they need to thrive. Our long-term goal is to reduce the social, emotional, and economic barriers that make reentry so difficult and to help build stronger, more inclusive communities. We are working toward a future where justice-impacted individuals are fully integrated into society—with stable housing, meaningful employment, strong support systems, and the ability to define their own success.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower formerly incarcerated individuals through a holistic approach that includes:
  • Mentorship and community connection
  • Mental health and therapy resources
  • Job training and employment services
  • Financial coaching and stability tools
  • Peer-led support groups and recovery spaces
We partner with individuals, families, and communities to create a supportive environment where people can heal, grow, and succeed—regardless of their past. Every service we offer is guided by our core belief: that everyone deserves the opportunity to start over.

Our Commitment

We are committed to equity, inclusion, and the removal of systemic barriers that prevent justice-involved individuals from moving forward. Our programs are trauma-informed, people-centered, and grounded in the real-life experiences of the communities we serve. At Second Chance Services, we don’t just offer programs—we walk alongside people as they reclaim their future.
