what you get
- Curated referrals to licensed therapists (individual, couples, family if requested).
- Trauma-informed, evidence-based care (CBT, DBT, EMDR, MI, and more—as appropriate).
- Short-term stabilization or longer-term care pathways.
- Practical tools for anxiety, sleep, panic, shame, and difficult conversations.
- Coordination with your plan (mentorship, employment, groups) so therapy supports everything else.
*Note: SCS does not provide clinical therapy directly; we connect you with vetted, independent clinicians and help you navigate options.
why this works
- Context-aware matching: Therapists who understand justice-impacted clients and complex family/work dynamics.
- Goal-first planning: Sessions tied to what’s happening now (court dates, reentry, employment, communication).
- Whole-person support: Mental health tools that connect with mentorship, employment help, and daily routines.
how it works
- Reach out. Share goals, constraints, preferences (telehealth, evenings, language).
- Thoughtful match. We recommend clinicians who fit your needs and schedule.
- Start well. Guidance for first sessions and how to evaluate fit.
- Keep momentum. Check-ins, adjustments, and referrals to other SCS programs as needed.
who it's for
– Individuals at any stage — investigation, pre-trial, sentencing, incarceration, or reentry.
– First-time or white-collar defendants who want clear steps and a therapist who “gets the context.”
– Anyone drowning in mixed advice who wants one grounded plan and a clinician aligned with it.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Lower daily stress and panic with tools you'll actually use.
- Clearer communication with loved ones, counsel, employers, and probation/parole.
- Healthier routines that support sleep, focus, and decision-making.
- A steadier reentry with care that respects real constraints and timelines.

FAQs
How much does it cost?
All SCS services are free for participants.
Do you provide therapy yourselves?
No. SCS is not a clinic. We connect you to licensed, trauma-informed therapists, help you get started, evaluate fit, and stay on track.
How do you choose therapists?
We prioritize licensure, justice-informed experience, evidence-based methods, availability (telehealth/evenings), and language access. If the fit isn’t right, you can switch.
Will my information be kept confidential?
Your intake with SCS is private, and clinicians follow professional confidentiality rules. If court or supervision terms affect privacy, your therapist will explain limits before you begin.
What if I can't afford therapy?
We’ve got you. Since SCS fully covers Therapy Resources with approved providers, you pay nothing. If we suggest supplemental services outside our network, we’ll flag costs and aim for free/low-cost options.
What if I need additional support beyond therapy?
We’ll find and cover a therapist that fits your needs—clinical focus, schedule, language, telehealth or in-person—and coordinate start dates and check-ins so care actually works for your life. We can also connect therapy with our other no-cost programs (Mentorship, Employment Resources, Financial Services, Support Groups) for wrap-around support.
